  • How do I book a party?

    Please visit our Celebrate page to review our party packages and to request a party date and time. Parties must be paid in full upon booking.
  • What are the recommended ages for your parties?

    We can customize activities for any age, but in general we recommend ages 3 and up.
  • What party package do you recommend for ages 8+?

    We love celebrating with all ages! We offer a number of packages that can be tailored to our guests ages 8+. 
    • β€œCrystal Spa Magic” party offers an aura crystal manicure, meditation mindfulness exercise, and a beaded crystal necklace craft activity. 
    • ”Mystical Paint Party” provides an instructor-guided paint lesson – you pick the subject! 
    • β€œWhimsical Witches” offers attendees to select a premium craft activity such as witch hat decorating, broom decorating, and spell book binding.
  • What is the "Magic Day" Transformation?

    The Birthday Child is invited to arrive 20 minutes prior to the start of the scheduled party time.

  • Can we invite more than 10 guests to a birthday party?

    We strive to provide a unique and intimate experience for our birthday children and their party guests. We are limited in space by our current retail location. 

    Our party packages are priced for 10 children, (9 guests + birthday child). The "Whimsical Witches" package can only accommodate 8 children (7 guests + birthday child). 

    We can only allow 4 adults to remain in the store for the party duration. 

    We recommend that guests be dropped off for the party.
  • When do you host parties?

    Birthday parties from November - May are booked based on availability. Please view our booking calendar to request your date and time. 

    September and October are our most magical months. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate private event bookings during this time.
  • Does "The Good Witch of Salem" host all of the parties?

    No, our parties are hosted by our magical employees. "The Good Witch of Salem" character appearance can be added to your party package for an additional fee at the time of booking.
  • Can you host a party that is longer than 1.5 hours?

    We only host parties for 1.5 hours (90 minutes). Party activities are timed at 60 minutes and cake/cupcakes can be served for the remaining 30 minutes. Please arrive no more than 10 minutes prior to your party time. We ask that parties end promptly and guests are picked up at the party's scheduled end time.
  • Can I book one of your classes/events as a party?

    Our events and classes are offered to serve the general public. You can book a private event by visiting our Celebrate page.
  • Can we wear your witch hats just for our party?

    Please respect that our space is also a retail store. Products and Hats are available for purchase only. Hats, dresses, and accessories cannot be used for private party purposes, such as dress up. Any merchandise worn or damaged during your party will be added to your party balance.
  • Can I bring in my own food?

    Our party packages do not include cake or beverages. We invite you to bring in cake or cupcakes for your guests to enjoy. Due to our 30 minute time constraints for serving food, we do not allow pizza or additional snacks

    Bringing in alcohol or consuming alcohol on-site is strictly prohibited 

    Guests should/can provide: banners, balloons, cake/cupcakes, juice boxes or water bottles, candles, lighter, cake cutter, utensils, plates, paper goods. 

    Employees of The Good Witch of Salem do not prepare or serve food and drink, including cutting the cake, etc.
  • Can I come in early to decorate/setup for my party?

    Yes, please arrive no more than 20 minutes prior to your party time. We close our retail store to provide you and your guests a private, personal experience.
  • Do you provide goody bags?

    Our party packages do not include goody bags. Select party favors can be purchased at a special discount when booking a party.
  • Can I take photos inside the shop?

    Of course! You are more than welcome to take as many photos as you like.
  • What do I need to provide for a party?

    All of our party packages include plastic tablecloths and all craft/activity materials specified with your booking.

    Guests should/can provide: banners, balloons, cake/cupcakes, juice boxes or water bottles, candles, lighter, cake cutter, utensils, plates, paper goods. Alcohol is strictly prohibited.
  • Do you have a restroom?

    We have a restroom that is for employee and party guest use only. An adult from your party must accompany a child to the restroom at all times.
  • Where can we park?

    The parking lot adjacent to our shop is privately owned. Visitors to the Good Witch of Salem may not park there for any reason. 

    Please give yourself plenty of time for parking. Metered parking is available along Essex Street and in Sewall Street Parking Lot. Sewell Street Parking Lot is located at the YMCA and is a one-minute walk to The Good Witch of Salem. Street parking is available along Essex St. 

    Additional parking options include the Salem MBTA, Church Street Garage, and Church Street Lot - all about a 7-10 minute walk to The Good Witch of Salem.
