Magical Musings
Become a Marketing Intern at The Good Witch of Salem!
Hi, I am Kate Henning and I was the marketing intern at the Good Witch of Salem this summer! I grew up in Salem, Massachusetts, so when I saw this job opportunity on handshake I was extremely excited. I am a rising junior at UVM studying business administration, with a concentration in marketing and a theme in entrepreneurship.
I have always had a passion for small businesses and understanding how they operate in a tourist-driven environment because of my time working in so many businesses in Salem. Something that also drew me to this internship was getting to work closely with Ashley Tina, the founder and Good Witch, and Amanda Curtis, the co-ceo and chief executive witch. They both have so much experience in the business world, and I have learned so much from both of them. Also, I love the color pink, so that really drew me in!
Some of my responsibilities here have included:
💞 Creating blog posts to advertise events, products, experiences and other good witch content!
📱Posting on Instagram and Facebook, with content that is already created or I create
📈 Tracking engagement on social media to watch growth
📸 Attend events and experiences to take pictures and videos
🌐 Network with other small businesses in Salem by handing out posters and brochures, and offering them a advertisement opportunity
🎨 Creating graphics, artwork and videos for various social medias (Spotify, Instagram, Facebook, and Tik Tok)
Celebrating my birthday!
I work for 20 hours a week, and I am hybrid but I work most of my hours in-store. I go into the store around three times a week for around 5 hours a day, and then I work the other hours at home. The hours are very flexible, so it works well with my schedule. You can also choose how many hours you want do, 10 hours a week or 20 hours a week.
If this seems like a good fit for you, you can apply on handshake!
