✨ Creativity Mitigates Anxiety ✨

✨ Creativity Mitigates Anxiety ✨

At The Good Witch of Salem, creativity fuels everything we do. It is the foundation of our workshops, classes, drop-in activities, and even the magical treasures in our retail store. Creativity isn’t just about making something beautiful—it’s about exploration, discovery, and self-expression.

Recently, while watching The Today Show, I was drawn to a segment featuring Harvard sociologist, life coach, and author of Beyond Anxiety, Martha Beck**. She shared something that resonated deeply with me:

🌀 We’ve long known that anxiety can shut down creativity… but what if creativity could shut anxiety down?

This idea is at the heart of what we do. When we focus on creating something we love—whether through art, storytelling, potion-making, or simply playing—we step into a world of joy. Creativity allows us to process emotions in a safe and meaningful way, transforming stress into self-expression.

Martha Beck’s words stuck with me:
🖌
“Just make something you love.”

Oh, how I love this. Imagine being five years old and hearing those words—no rules, no limits, no molds to fit into. Just pure, joyful creativity. But this message isn’t just for children—it’s for all of us. Whether you’re five, fifty, or seventy-five, when you create something you love, you spark joy within yourself.

Creativity fuels joy. Joy fuels peace. And when we create from the heart, we tap into our soul’s purpose—that deep, undeniable magic that makes us who we are.

💫 Start with one thing. Something you love. Create it.
💫
Look up, keep going, and let your light shine.

Because when you create from joy, that joy spreads—like a glowing beam of light, reaching everyone around you.

✨ What will you create today? ✨
